Kent is in the South East of England, and is classed as one of the home counties.
It borders East Sussex, Surrey & Greater London and has a defined boundary with Essex right through the middle of the Thames Estuary. Kent also has a nominal border with France halfway through the Channel Tunnel too!
Because of its location Kent has seen many conflicts, most namely the Battle of Britain during World War II. In fact, East Kent was actually known as Hell Fire Corner during this time.
There is a rich history of Bronze Age, Iron Age, and Roman era occupation, and the area is known by finds such as the Ringlemere gold cup.
